An African man allegedly murdered his alleged pregnant girlfriend at their rented house in the early hours of Monday morning, 27 November 2023 at about 03h50 in Evander.
In the midst of the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence against women and children, the residents of Evander were left terrified after witnessing a horrific scene of the gruesome murder.
It is alleged that the suspect kept the pregnant woman in the fridge before setting the house on fire.
It is further alleged that the deceased and suspect have been in a love relationship and had been staying together.
Further allegations are that the suspect mutilated the deceased’s body.
No arrests have been made and the suspect is still at large.
There are reports currently making rounds on social media platforms that the suspect has been roaming around the streets of Evander since Monday.
Evander Spokesperson Constable Zuki Mxhotyelwa is currently unavailable to comment on this matter but more information will be shared with Seskhona News readers.
