About twenty three (23) Tshwane Bahlali Dudula members appeared at the Pretoria North Magistrate Court, on 06 July 2022.

The Tshwane Bahlali Dudula members were detained by the Moot Police station.

This comes after Hundreds of the Tshwane Bahlali Dudula movement gathered at the Lion Match Factory on 06 June 2022 to demand the employment of local residents.

Locals were complaining that the company has hired 80% foreign nationals and 20% South Africans.

An altercation broke out between the police and members of the anti-migrant group, it is alleged that the police had to use firearms and paper spray to control the situation.

Due to disruptions and violent activities, Moot Police and other law enforcement members were on high alert, and twenty three (23) people were arrested.

The Chairperson of the Tshwane Bahlali Dudula, David Ratladi said the case has been postponed to 15 July 2022 for further investigation.

“We stand and support our members, we don’t understand even why our members got arrested.

The matter has been postponed to 15 July 2022 at the Pretoria North Magistrate Court,” said Ratladi.
