Department of Home Affairs promised to send a mobile office to Secunda to ease the backlog of children’s birth certificates registration.

Seskhona Media contacted the department after receiving complaints from parents who stood on long queues in the sun waiting for their turn to be allowed into the building.

Our reporter visited the Home Affairs in Secunda on Tuesday, 12 May to verify the complaints and on her arrival, the queue for the registration of birth certificates was very long and only three people were allowed to enter the building at a time.

Some of the people said they were visiting the offices for the third day without any help since the offices close at 3.30 pm.
