Andries Teller appeared before the Bethal Magistrate Court on charges of murder.

Teller is a suspect in the murder case of Lindiwe Dlala who was an Educator at Langelihle Primary School.

Dladla went missing on 29 March 2023 in the morning when her family could not get hold of her.

The sister, Mrs Nomthandazo Mnguni, therefore went to her place of residence and school where Lindiwe worked and enquired with a colleague who was Lindiwe’s friend but she also had not heard from her.

‘’I went to school to ask if she had reported for duty and a certain educator alleged that they had killed her, talking swiftly. I therefore asked her how she knew that, as we were still searching for her.

She immediately changed the topic, still confused about my sister’s whereabouts.

The same educator approached me saying she knew a strong traditionalist who could help find my sister.

I therefore ignored all that and proceeded to the police station where I opened a missing person’s case. The teacher kept on calling and asking about the developments in finding my sister.

I was vulnerable, so I kept on updating her seeing she was concerned.

The police called with information about a body found near a dumping site.

We therefore went to identify the body but to my surprise, excluding the police and emergency personnel, was the same educator was already there.

She went as far as crying her lungs out at the scene where my sister was found.

I found it weird that she acted the way she did whilst she was not my sister’s friend,’’ said Nomthandazo narrating the events which took place after her sister’s disappearance.

There are further allegations that the said educator bought a new Mahindra motor vehicle a week after Lindiwe’s funeral and went to the park where Lindiwe used to park her vehicle. Furthermore, it is alleged that she started being sick, thereby going on a long sick leave since 2021.

The said educator as never investigated or arrested.

It is alleged that after Lindiwe Dladlas’ death, her then boyfriend was arrested but later released on bail.

Teller has since been arrested on the 11th April 2023 in connection to the murder of Lindiwe Dladla, He first appeared in court on the 20th April 2023 when his attorney called and apologized that she was not aware her client was appearing before court on that date.

The matter was then postponed to the 4th of May 2023 when the attorney still did not pitch. When asked where his attorney was by the magistrate, Teller said he had no idea or communication with her since he was in custody.

The matter was then postponed to 12 May 2023.
