Two contract workers were fatally shot on Thursday, 30 October 2024, at about 08h00 am.

According to information, the victims, aged 37 and 40, were reportedly taking a vehicle for a service in one of the mechanic’s workshops when they met their untimely death.

The two are said to have dropped off a vehicle at Thusiville in Ermelo and were using another car as they were returning. It was during this time that they were attacked by their assailant(s).

Details and circumstances surrounding this incident are still being investigated.

A lifeless body of one of the victims was found inside the car, while the second victim was found outside the vehicle.

The SAPS members also found some empty cartridges at the scene.

The motive behind the killing is unknown at the moment.Meanwhile, the Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, reassured the public that the team of investigators has been assigned to probe this incident, and the members are working around the clock to bring perpetrators thereof to book.
