The Economic Freedom Fighters councillors, members and family of Nkosinathi Khumalo picketed against poor policing outside the eMzinoni police station on Friday, 28 March 2025.

The purpose of the picket was to demand answers from the police regarding Nkosinathi Khumalo’s missing persons case.

40-year-old Khumalo went missing during the EFF National Shutdown against the ongoing electricity crisis on the 20th of March 2023.

He was last seen on the Bethal N17 road, where he was allegedly with the other three (3) young men.

“What hurts the most is that the three young men came back to their families, but Nkosinathi is still nowhere to be found,” said Ms Nkosi from the family.

Emzinoni Station Commander, Captain Nkosi together with Sergeant Ndlovu, acting station commander, welcomed Mr Manamela, EFF sub-regional coordinator, councillors and family members to the boardroom to give clarity about the case.

“I request some time to prepare a report that will be available for the family, as I do not have much information about this case and would not want to share false statements regarding it,” said Captain Nkosi who is the station commander of eMzinoni police station.

He further emphasized that he will work hard to assist the family and get an update on the development of the case.

“Although I am currently on leave, I will make means to ensure that this case is handled appropriately, as it is a sensitive matter,” he concluded.

All representatives reached an agreement that further communication will be shared on Tuesday, 01 April 2025.
