Mpumalanga MEC for Education, Mr Bokanele Majuba was supposed to visit the bereaved family of the learner who was stabbed and died in hospital.
He was also expected to visit the schools which the learner attended.
According to Mpumalanga Department of Education Spokesperson Mr Jasper Zwane, the MEC was already here at Govan Mbeki Municipality when he realized that his visit will not materialize due to blocked roads.
The MEC will however meet with the school management at the circuit office in Secunda to find out how they can assist the family.
