Learners from Vukuqakaze Secondary School had the opportunity to learn about an alternative sanitary product called My Own Cup.
At first they were amazed to see the cup and did not know how it works.
After Ms Cara Lugibihl explained how it works and afford them the opportunity to touch it, they began to relax and could not wait to practice using it at home.
Carl partnered with Sasol to pilot the introduction of My Own Cup to learners.
Some of the advantages of My Own Cup were said to be eco-friendly (no paper or plastic packaging to be thrown away), does not contain any rubber, latex, additives, bleach or chemicals.
Ms Lugibihl added that My Own Cup can hold up to 3 times the amount of fluid than the avarage disposable sanitary product.
It is also easily sterilized by using boiling water.
