Mpumalanga Scholar Transport bus owned by Habana Trading was burned to ashes on Thursday, 12 October at around 1pm.

The driver of the bus was said to have experienced some mechanical problems and stopped near the recycling company in Kinross, on the Kriel road.

It was alleged that he was approached by two males who were driving a BMW vehicle and ordered him to leave the area immediately. 

The driver was said to have obeyed the instruction, got off the bus and arranged transport for himself.

Just after he left, people saw the bus burning.

Kinross Police confirmed that a case of malicious damage to property was opened but no one was arrested yet.
