The House of Hope Development Centre together with Cllr Simphiwe Sindelo handed over shoes and jeans to children and adults at Ext 25 eMbalenhle in Ward 4 on Thursday, 08 December 2022.

The Centre gathered 30 children and 25 adults who are in need of clothes and gifted them with pairs of shoes and jeans as their early Christmas gift with the help of a sponsor.

House of Hope Development Centre aims to fight poverty around Govan Mbeki Municipality by helping children with disabilities, adults who are in dire need as well as orphans with the core vision of providing them with food, clothes and shelters for the homeless people.

The Center also assists in making arrangements for proper and suitable infrastructure for people who are living with disabilities.

Cllr Sindelo of Ward 4 in eMbalenhle expressed his special gratitude to the Centre and the clothing store for the incredible work they have done in fighting poverty and changing lives for the better around the community and also empowering other stakeholders to involve themselves in this initiative.

“We request any sponsors and companies to have their hand in so that they can help us to achieve more in helping the community and all people around Govan Mbeki municipality through fighting poverty,” said Frida Mashinini, secretary of House of Hope Development Centre.

She further stated that she’s grateful for Hlengiwe Maseko, Unathi Mkhwanazi, Nelly Mbonani and Vezile Nogwayi for their help and wonderful input towards the hand over.

The secretary also pleaded for assistance at the center with food, clothing and other equipment as well as devices which would assist people living with disabilities.
