The police in Bethal are concerned about the human remains that are still not identified or claimed by the family which were discovered on 05 May 2018 in a field at Bankpan farm near Bethal.
The discovery came after the police received information about the remains with pieces of clothings including blue Jean and Nike tekkies-black and white in color found in a field near a stream of a river by a shepherd.
The police then attended the matter and all role players were summoned to the scene.
On the same day, an expert from the Local Criminal Record Centre, Constable Bhuti Mathibela Compiled the photo album which formed part of the investigation.
The remains were collected by forensic Pathologist, Mr Sipho Sibande and taken to government mutuary in Bethal where post-mortem examination which required skill in biology, anatomy and pathology was conducted.
The chief post-mortem findings were a skull, left humorous bone, 2 tarsal bones, 1 radius and ulnar bones which were linked to a black adult male.
Police therefore request anyone who might have lost their loved ones between the years 2017 and 2018 to contact Detective Constable Xolani David Khuzwayo on 0825790177 for arrangements to identify the remains.
