Masakhane Cleaning initiative (MCI) is a group formed by four (4) community members namely; Lindiwe Sibeko, Thandi Nopha, Butie Xaba and Christopher Mofokeng from Kinross, Ext 25 ward 16 with the aim of creating a better living environment for the community.

The group already completed one of its projects at Kinross Primary School by cleaning inside and outside the yard for learners to have a better place to play during break time.

“We are the dedicated community members who are willing to help the future of our children so that they grow-up in a comfortable and healthy environment.”

The dedicated team is at the moment busy working towards the development of sports ground near Kinross Primary School.

The cleaning group is pleading with stakeholders and business people to support them with sponsoring their projects with the necessary resources that they can use such as plastic bags, rakes, shovels, spades, boots, pitchforsk, sickles, pruners, wheelbarrows and a lawn mower.

MCI has initiated whistle per household for emergency alert so that if anyone blows the whistle will be alerting the community that they need help as soon as possible, maybe if there is house burning, house break-in or any kind of crime then the whistle will alert and help community as soon as possible.

“We are the dedicated community members who are willing to help the future of our children so that they grow-up in a comfortable and healthy environment,” said Christopher Mofokeng.

Lindiwe Sibeko further stated that the initiative includes planting vegetables at the school gardens and use the product to feed the young children who cannot afford to buy food so that they must not sleep with an empty stomach, therefore anyone who would like to help or need whistle can contact her on 0790569176 or contact Christopher Mofokeng on 0763076943
