Pandamic Community Foundation, an NPO drop in center based in Kinross Marikana section, celebrated Mandela Day on Wednesday, 17 July 2024.
The center caters food for vulnerable children’s, orphans, and child-heeded homes. Children can easily drop in at the center after school and receive a meal for the day.
The center also works hand in hand with different stakeholder groups when a child needs to be referred for help.
Day Break Foods spent their 67 minutes of Mandela Day giving back to the community by painting the structure, providing a water tank to store water, and installing ceiling boards to increase warmth inside the building and meals for the day.
Elmund Raboshakga, area manager of Day Break Foods in Kinross, said the initiative is part of giving back to the community.
Nokwazi Ngxongo from Day Head Office said that with respect to feeding vulnerable children, Day Break does accept proposals when the year starts from NGOs that are seeking donations within the communities where they operate.
