While people were celebrating the day of love on Friday, 14 February 2025, all four ANC ward councillors from Leandra visited Vukuqhakaze Secondary School.
The aim of the visit was to donate items to the learners and the school principal as appreciation for obtaining outstanding Matric results in the year 2024.
Cllr Mahlangu (Ward 1), Cllr Maseko (Ward 2), Cllr Mnyukane (Ward 3), and Cllr Sibonyani (Ward 6) all contributed an amount of money as an initiative of giving back to the community.
“As part of giving back to the community, we also wanted to show the school that we really appreciate the matric results they obtained in 2024.
This will also motivate both the teachers and learners to keep working hard and put us on the map again as Leandra,” said Cllr Mahlangu.
The councillors donated fifteen (15) pairs of school shoes, two (2) boxes of sanitary towels, and a brand new laptop for Mr Mdaki, the school principal.
