Matapula’s FC buried Stallion FC daylight as they managed to claim an undebatable 5-1 victory on Sunday, 11 May 2021 at Embalenhle Sasol Club.
Stallion played well but lacked finishing touches at the goal post and its backline was a bit low-powered, while Matapula’s played as a team making sure that the ball is well received by either Sibusiso Vilakazi or Sphiwe Mahlangu who later passed it to Luvo Mxhalisa to finishing it off.
Luvo Mxhalisa managed to score 4 goals, while Siyabonga Sibanyoni scored the 5th goal.
Sasol Stallion only goal was scored during the second half of the game by Siboniso Skosana.
The goalkeeper of Sasol Stallion, Zakhele Mahlangu tried his best to block the balls as they were flooding into his nets but was disappointed by his backline which was not too strong to prevent the balls from entering the eighteen areas and later sent straight into the net.
Luvo said he was happy to score four goals because his team did not look good on the log for the season.
“These were my first goals for the season, and I would like to thank my teammates for supplying me with the balls,” said Luvo who further mentioned that Stallion made a mistake of not marking him but concentrate on No.9.
Stallion was previously known as Sasol Juventus and bought the status from Sasol Stallion (previously known as Sasol Thistle Grove whose coach was Tshepo Zondo).
The original Sasol Stallion promoted its players to the senior team of Sasol Thistle Grove whose coach was Mr Nhlabathi and was later coached by Thambo.
