Goats estimated to be more than 20 in numbers were found dead in a church yard at Ext 14, Embalenhle on Tuesday, 3 March.
According to the information we received, one of the shepherds looked for the goats on Monday, 2 March and only to find that they were inside the church yard and the gate was locked.
He was said to have not worried much as he thought they were safe in church.
On his arrival on Tuesday morning, he was shocked to see so many carcasses.
A community members said he saw a group of dogs dragging one of the goats this morning, but did not feed on it.
Goats owners and community members who were on scene said there were no sign of dogs bites on all dead goats, while some suspects a snake.
