The three men accused of the brutal murder of Nontobeko Murrure — Luzuko Sibiya (22), Masimbongea (21), and Elvin Nhlapho (21) briefly appeared in the Evander Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 13 May 2025.
The trio has been in custody since 15 March 2025, facing charges of murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances.
Nontobeko’s sister, Nora Morrure, travelled all the way from Witbank to hear of the proceedings of her sister’s case.
“It is my first time seeing the accused in court. I want justice for my sister Nontobeko. I still ask myself why they did this,” said Nora Morrure.
The matter was previously postponed for the docket to be presented before the court. During their appearance on the said date, it was further postponed until 25 June 2025 for further investigations, postmortem report, and a possible bail hearing.
