The police in Leandra are concerned about the high rise of house break-ins within the community.
This follows after they have received numerous complaints and reports about the particular crime.
Constable Ngobeni from the Leandra police station said they are trying to warn the community about such cases.
“As a station, we believe these crimes are perpetrated by people who are not from around Leandra but with Intel from people who reside here.
We would like to warn the community to always be vigilant around their surroundings.
Members of the community should report any suspicious move by an unknown individual in the community, the police will respond swiftly,’’ Ngobeni said, warning the community.
Ngobeni further urged members of the community to refrain from buying cheap items on the streets as most of these items are stolen goods.
Furthermore, Ngobeni urged the community to work together in reporting such crimes as soon as possible.
