South African Police Services called on communities to partner with them and other law enforcement agencies to ensure a safer and better South Africa for all.

By working in partnership we can keep our communities safe and ensure that criminal elements have no place to hide.

All who reside in our country must feel safe.

•Fighting crime is a shared responsibility between the police, the community, and the business sector.

•Criminals thrive in communities where their actions are tolerated; together let us stamp out crime wherever it resides.

•We will continue to champion initiatives that will mobilize all in society to work together towards a better and safer South Africa.

•Community Policing Forums play a pivotal role in ensuring constant liaison between communities, the police station commander, and his or her personnel.

•The Division: Visible Policing is actively monitoring Community Policing Forums to further empower them and maintain functional CPF structures at the local policing precinct level.

•An additional budget has been allocated for this purpose with a specific focus on those CPF structures that still need support.

•Community Policing Forums (CPFs) are statutory bodies that are tasked with the following:

Monitoring the effectiveness and efficiency of the SAPS to ensure transparency and accountability to local communities;

Mobilizing community support in crime detection; Improving relationships with the community; Engaging in social crime prevention initiatives, and Advising police on priorities in the neighbourhood.
