Sasol Kinross Netball Club was selected to represent Govan Mbeki Municipality at the Gert Sibande District sports event after playing against more than 10 teams on Saturday, 06 May 2023 at Sasol Recreation Club in eMbalenhle.
The teams gathered together and took the opportunity to showcase their talent and passion for netball.
The tournament was part of the selection games which also took place in other municipalities.
The purpose of the selection was to choose one of the best teams to represent GMM at the district sports event held on Saturday, 24 June 2023 at Msukaligwa in Ermelo.
“We are just trying to be fair with the ladies, hence we have this selection tournament,” said Sonto, one of the GMM netball officials.
Other teams which participated were; Puzzles, Peace Sisters, Sasol Juventus, and Evander Empresses.
“My team works very hard and they are committed to netball,” said Mamsie Mtsweni, Sasol Kinross Netball Club coach.
She further thanked the Govan Mbeki Netball Association for hosting the tournament and hopes that her team will represent GMM very well.
