This year’s Sasol TechnoX marks 21 and the competition was officially opened on Tuesday, 15 August 2023 at Boiketlong Sports Ground in Sasolburg and ran until Friday, 18 August 2023.
Sasol TechnoX, which is hailed as the biggest Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths, and Innovation (STEAMI) career exhibition in the country aims to inspire the youth to explore STEAMI careers and innovation.
These careers are critical for the growth of the economy and Sasol.
Over 19 000 learners attended the expo over the course of the week, including learners and teachers from the Standerton sub-region of Mpumalanga who were ferried to Sasolburg.
TechnoX offers learners and educators a space to engage in STEAMI activities that are part of the school curriculum.
“Sasol is a significant investor in science and technology and by hosting this event, we want to inspire the future generation of innovators and entrepreneurs who will uplift our country and the economy through technology,” said Mashudu Ndou, Vice President of Community Affairs for Secunda Operations.
At the TechnoX formal opening ceremony, Buti Manamela, the Deputy Minister of Education, praised Sasol for giving young people the freedom to choose careers that fit the demands of the nation.
