Mr Fanyana Sibanyoni was re-elected Santaco provincial chairperson for the third time during the provincial general meeting held at Nelspruit on Wednesday, 9 February 2022.

When speaking to Seskhona Media, Mr Sibanyoni said his unopposed re-election for the provincial chairmanship proves that he is really working.

Some of his achievements during the past two terms include ending the conflict within the industry in the province, creating more opportunities for work and giving back to the community.

“If you can remember, the taxi industry was not recognized for scholar transport but during my term, we managed to get buses as the taxi industry to transport learners.

Now the whole province knows that when one needs transport, local taxis are available,” said Mr Sibanyoni detailing some of his achievements.

His dedication and creativity saw him scoring good deals for the industry, such as getting sponsorship for the executive committee vehicles so that they able to travel easily.

He also managed to negotiate with banks to relax the red tapes so that taxi owners are able to buy vehicles.

Besides his achievement in the province, Mr Sibanyoni is also recognized locally where he also serves as a chairperson for Vukanini Taxi Association.

Vukta General Secretary, Mr Aaron Mahlangu said they are delighted to see one of their own beings recognized provincially and nationally.

“Mr Sibanyoni is focused, disciplined, and goal-driven,” said Mr Mahlangu.
