Sifiso George Sibiloane (21) made his first appearance before the Secunda Magistrates Court, today, 10 March 2026.
The 21-year-old is facing charges of rape and murder wherein the deceased was a 7-year-old.
The appearance comes after the suspect was arrested on Sunday, 08 March 2026 in Charl Cilliers.
According to information at police disposal, a complaint of a missing child and immediately activated units of the SAPS that included Crime Intelligence, K9 and Detectives, to search for the child. The team was joined by private security officers, farmers and members of the local Community Police Forum.
The search led to the discovery of the clothes of the child dumped near the mealie field. Further investigation resulted into the arrest of the suspect who led the police to the mealie field where the body of the missing child was found.
The matter has been postponed for Monday, 16 March 2026 for legal aid application.
