It was the end of dodgy trick for a 29 year old twilight business burglar in Standerton on Wednesday morning, 01 February 2023 around 03h25 when police brought him to book.

After receiving a signal that an alarm had gone off in one of the neighbourhood’s business buildings, the alarm security response team quickly notified police, who responded to the call without delay.

The suspect said to be responsible for many business burglaries in Standerton was apprehended in the act.

He was reportedly found still damaging the air conditioners with possibilities of unlawfully gaining access to copper cables inside.

The suspect was immediately arrested by the police on the scene.

This incident is not dissimilar to previous business burglaries in the Standerton area in which suspects gained unprecedented access.

The arrested suspect is due to appear at the Standerton District Court on Friday, 03 February 2023.

Further investigation will be conducted to ascertain if the suspect is not involved in other incidents that were previously reported.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has welcomed the arrest and was impressed by some businesses that assist in the fight against crime by installing extra security features.
