Govan Mbeki municipality residents are currently experiencing water shortages, with some having no water at all. This is after Rand Water has not been pumping water from its Bloemendal pump station to the municipality since Saturday afternoon, 20 January 2024 which is affecting water supply.
Secunda, Embalenhle, Leslie, and Kinross are some of the areas said to be affected.
According to a statement issued by the municipality, the power is not yet restored at the Rand Waters Bloemendal pump station due to logistical challenges that Eskom experienced.
Therefore, Eskom has made arrangements for a crane and a lowbed to ensure the transformer reaches the site this morning, January 2024, this work is planned to be completed today.
