The Tesh Foundation hosted the tournament draw for December soccer matches, also known as Amawardi, on Sunday, 08 December 2024, at Kgotso Tsotetsi Hall in eMbalenhle.

This will be the first year of the Tesh Foundation hosting the tournament, as they believe that it unites the people of Govan Mbeki Municipality and also exposes the talent of young boys.

“We also believe that this year’s tournament will bring back the standards of Amawardi, which were created years back by the late Themba Mtsweni and his team,” said Cllr Aron Vusimuzi Mbokazi, CEO and Founder of Tesh Foundation.

The thirty-six (36) teams that will be participating in the tournament paid an affiliation fee of R1 500.00 and were divided into eight (8) groups.

The winning team will receive an amount of R100 000.00, while 2nd place will receive R50 000.00, 3rd place will receive R25 000.00, and the 4th place will receive R5 000.00.

“I really appreciate all the sponsors who have come upfront to help us as the foundation. We still urge other local businesses to help us because we still need some hands, as this is a big tournament,” said Cllr Mbokazi.

The kick-off will be on Sunday, 15 December 2024, at 09h00, hosted at Ext 1, Ehlazweni, in eMbalenhle.
