After observing the challenges faced by learners at different schools in Govan Mbeki Municipality, the Vukanini Taxi Association Youth Desk donated school uniforms on Friday, 12 April 2024, at Tholukwazi primary school.
The purpose of donating school uniforms was an initiative to give back to the community.
“The time we did the sanitary drive, we realised that most learners need uniforms,” said Sbongile Mtsweni, Chairperson of the Vukanini Taxi Association Youth Desk.
Fifteen (15) schools, namely; Trichardtfontein Primary school, Isibanisesizwe Combined School, Kinross primary school, Vanstadensdam primary school, Roodebank primary school, Vukuzithathe primary school, Shapeve primary school, Allan Maguga primary school, Lifalethu primary school, Buyani primary school, Thorisong primary school, Mbalenhle primary school, Tholukwazi primary school, Zamokuhle primary school, Emdibini primary school with two learners from each school were invited to gather at Tholukwazi primary school.
The youth desk donated thirty (30) school uniforms, including school shoes, a pair of socks, trousers, shirts, school shoes, and a small snack for the day.
“A dream doesn’t become reality through magic; it takes determination and hard work,” said Sbongile.
The Vukanini Taxi Association Youth Desk wishes to help more learners and encourage them to study, as they believe that education is the key to success.
