In their paricipation of 67 minutes of Mandela, Homeboys and Homeladies Academy observed Mandela Month throughout the entire Sunday, 23 July 2023 at Mandela soccer grounds in eMbalenhle.
The aim of the event was for both soccer teams to create a memorable day with the spirit of reconciliation and geniality in celebration of 10 years anniversary for Homeboys Academy meanwhile, the ladies celebrate four years.
All team players, including Mam Coach from Sabelo Stars and the parents were also present for the celebration.
“I am happy to see my team enjoying themselves,” said Thokozile Maswanganyi, Homeboys Academy coach.
According to Coach Maswanganyi, the aim is to help young people grow into better individuals by teaching them respect and discipline.
Through hardships encountered, the teams intend in spending another ten years or more together.
