Evander Magistrate Court gave Nkosana Msiza a life sentence and 20 years imprisonment on Monday, 16 July.
His accomplices Lucky Mofokeng, Sifiso Maseko and Toki Motlhocwi were sentenced 20 years imprisonment each.
The four accused were said to have committed a house robbery in eMbalenhle last year in April.
They entered the house of the victim armed with firearms and a knife.
The court heard that they assaulted the owner of the house until he became unconscious.
Msiza received a life sentence for stabbing the victim’s wife and raped her.
The magistrate commended the eMbalenhle Police Station Detective Mthombeni for working hard and making sure that the accused are brought to books sooner.
She further mentioned that the accused did not show any remorse on their acts.
