A 41-year-old suspect who went on a killing spree on his in-laws has handed himself to the Ermelo Police, who then handed him over to Emzinoni Police Station.
It is alleged that the suspect had marital problems with his wife and were separated for almost three months.
On Saturday, 09 April 2022 at about 3 pm he went to his in-law’s home at Ext 4, Kanana Section whereby he allegedly started fighting with his wife.
She tried to run away from him, and he shot her on the leg and neck.
He also shot his sister-in-law (24), brother-in-law (26), and father-in-law (55), they were all certified dead on the scene.
The suspect was said to have continued shooting randomly as he was fleeing.
He allegedly left a voice note to his brother informing him that he will hand himself at Ermelo Police Station as well as the firearm used.
Mpumalanga SAPS Provincial Spokesperson, Brig Selvy Mohlala confirmed the incident.
According to Brig Mohlala the suspect is facing three counts of murder and another count of attempted murder.
The wife who is still in a critical condition was transferred to Witbank Hospital where she is receiving medical attention.
He is expected to appear in Bethal Magistrate Court soon.
