ADVANTAGEOUS REQUIREMENTS:

– Degree/Diploma in Power engineering including mechanical experience

– ISO training

– Supervisors Multiskilled Certificate

– Pump repairs, assembling and installation experience

– Underground and gold plant operations experience

– Fridge plants and High-speed air compressors experience

– Sewage plants and salvage yards experience

– Instrumentation and PLC upgrade experience

– Experience in supply chains and mine stores

– Experience with HDPE and steel pipes

– Experience with transformers and mini sub installations and testing

– Experience with LV and MV motors and testing

– Experience with submersible pumps and repairs

Minimum Requirements:

• Be experienced in and hold a valid trade certificate Electrical or Mechanical (Sect 13)

• Have at least 10 years’ experience in a supervisory position (Electrical and/or Mechanical supervisor) both surface and underground.

• Be in possession of an Electrical or Mechanical Diploma or Degree

• Experience in gold mining in underground and surface sections

• Demonstrate sound knowledge of basic Legal, Health and Safety and Environmental principles used in the workplace

• Have a good understanding of Quality Assurance Systems ISO 9000: 2015

• Have good knowledge and understanding of how the complete quality assurance and control system functions

• Have knowledge of tools for monitoring the “offsite” repairs via IMS (Asset Tracking System) and related account system.

• Have the ability to effectively communicate with a broad base of end users such as Foreman, GES, Engineers, Engineering Managers, Senior Management and Vendors.

• Have extensive knowledge on Motors, Transformers, Hydrostats, Pumps, Diesel Engines, Hopper wheels, mining mechanical equipment, etc.

• Have good understanding of the Clients business needs related to QAQC systems requirements

• Be creative in thinking “outside the box”

• Have a valid SA driver’s license with own transport for travel to clients and vendors

• Be willing to travel to companies when required and for factory acceptance tests

• Be able to arrange site meetings with vendors and outside vendors

• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written English communication skills (report writing)

• Pay attention to detail, and have a meticulous and well-organized work method

• Display strong analytical, problem solving and presentation abilities

• Have unquestionable integrity and work ethic

• Be a team player, but show resourcefulness and leadership abilities in producing deadline-driven results

• Have the knowledge and skills to Revise, Update and Communicate standards and operational procedures

• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Pan African Occupational Health Centre

You will be required to:

• Ensure communication systems meet the business requirements

• Effective quality control implementation on the mine and vendors

• Be able to fully implement quality control system, quality control plan, checklists

• Conduct official technical audits

• Ensure offsite and onsite site meetings are held professional manner with various vendors

• Ensure scope of work is verified as true and all invited vendors can tender on the correct SOW (scope of work)

• Administer QA/QC throughout the repairs

• Daily checks on quotations received from vendors for repairs to equipment – Approval

• Effective liaison with end users on scope of work on equipment to be repaired and purchased

• Conduct pre and post inspections (QA/QC)

• Ensure quotations match the repaired equipment – negotiate pricing

• Liaise with business units to understand any upgrades, modifications or issues on their equipment

• Planning, monitoring and maintenance of repaired equipment via status reports from vendors

• Update standards, specifications and quality control on all critical work

• Visit on site and fault find when required by clients

• Write proper reports on findings with solutions and recommendations

• Manage and coordinate service providers and vendors to achieve maximum benefit to the business and timeous resolution of problems and incidents
