SALE OF SASOL OWNED AGRICULTURAL LAND: INVITATION TO BID
The Land and Rights Department of Sasol invites bids from eligible bidders for the following agricultural properties/farms:
1. Portion 7 of the farm Grootspruit 279 IS: 154.2058 ha • Co-ordinates: 26º32’020.25 S – 29º02’588.01 E
• Property used entirely for grazing purposes. • The boundary and camp fences are not in a good condition.
• There is no groundwater or surface water available on the property and it will be sold as “droëland”.
• The property contains no structural improvements. • A servitude will be registered against the property to accommodate the existing Sasol Mining conveyor belt.
2. Portion 6 of the farm Weltevreden 116 IS: 58.5454 ha
• Co-ordinates: 26º23’42.546 S – 29º16’52.417 E • Mixed farming unit comprising of pastures (11 ha) and grazing (43 ha).
• The boundary and camp fences are in a fair condition. • There is borehole water available on the property, but the property will be sold as “droëland”.
• A servitude will be registered over approximately 3 ha of the property to accommodate the existing Sasol Mining Syferfontein Colliery ventilation shafts. • Structural improvements comprising of dilapidated dwelling, flat and garage which need to be demolished by the new owner. The shed is still usable.
3. Portion 8 of the farm Branddrift 322 IS: 288.2231 ha
• Co-ordinates: 26º37’25”.53 S – 29º02’20”.20 E • Mixed farming entity comprising of dry lands (180 ha) and grazing (108 ha).
• The boundary and camp fences are in a fair condition. However, there is no boundary fence on the western side of the property.
• The Impumelelo tar road (R847) divides the property. • There is no borehole water available on the property and it will be sold as “droëland”. A seasonal stream is situated on the southern side of the road.
4. Portion 4 of the farm Rietvley 320 IS: 242.8625 ha
• Co-ordinates: 26º34’54.73” S – 29º05’23.49 E • Mixed farming entity comprising of grazing (201.8625 ha) and cultivated lands (41 ha).
• There is no borehole water available on the property and it will be sold as “droëland”.
• The Shondoni overland conveyor belt servitude divides the property. • Apart from the conveyor, the property contains no structural improvements.
5. Portion 24 of the farm Roodebank 323 IS: 231.3436 ha
• Mixed farming entity comprising of dry lands (101 ha), pastures (11 ha) and natural grazing (119 ha).
• Average developed mixed farming entity with acceptable diversified land utility.
• A seasonal stream is situated on the southern border of the farm. There is no borehole water available on the property, with limited water supply in respect of the natural grazing to the west of the R50.
The property will be sold as “droëland”. • Apart from the existing overland conveyor belt servitude and R50 road, the property contains no structural improvements.
• A servitude will be registered against the property to accommodate the existing Sasol Mining conveyor belt.
6. Remainder of the farm Roodebank 323 IS: 162.8232 ha
• Co-ordinates: 26º36’20.50” S – 29º01’35.27 E • Mixed farming entity comprising of dry lands (3 ha) natural grazing (120 ha) and pastures (39 ha).
• Water supply for livestock is available from the perennial Waterval River. There is no borehole water available on the property and it will be sold as “droëland”.
• The R50 tar road and the Impumelelo conveyor belt divide the property.
• A servitude will be registered against the property to accommodate the existing Sasol Mining conveyor belt.
General
Bidders may at their own discretion bid for a single farm portion, or a combination thereof.
All of the above-mentioned properties fall on land where Sasol has previously completed underground coal mining activities.
Tender/bid documents will be emailed to interested parties who have registered their interest.
