The police in Secunda are in search of a suspect who allegedly shot at his wife on Thursday in Moruleni flats at about 20h30. The two are said to have been on the verge of separation at the time of the incident.

It is alleged that an argument started while the victim’s children were in their room; they then went to observe what was happening after hearing the victim and the suspect shouting. By the time the boys got to the passage, they heard six gunshots and then saw the victim lying in the doorway.

It is further alleged that the suspect threatened the boys that they would be next; during this time, the six-year-old victim ran past to get to his mother, who was lying in a pool of her blood, but was shot in the lower leg.

The suspect is said to be on the run using his white Toyota vehicle.

The boys therefore drove the victims to Evander Hospital using their mother’s vehicle. The victim has since been transferred to Witbank Hospital. It is still unknown how many times she was shot.

A concerned neighbor informed the police, who responded swiftly when they arrived at an empty but opened flat. The boys later returned and explained to the police what had transpired.

The suspect is identified as Mr. Ndumiso Wisdom Ndimande, aged 33.

Police therefore request that anyone who might have information about whereabouts contact the investigation officer or call the crime stop number at 08600 10111. Alternatively, information can be shared via the MYSAPSAPP. All received information will be treated as confidential, and callers may remain anonymous.
