Mabukamahle Traditional Dance group is known for performing at car washes, restaurants, and events such as weddings and birthdays.
The group was founded by two young men from Leandra, Mvumeni Kubheka and Vukani Khoza in 2019.
The duo said they used to listen to Mqumeni and Thokozani Langa music and became interested in creating their own Maskandi music.
According to Mvumeni, the group already released a CD and would like to grow big and be recognized nationally.
“The community of Leandra does support us, but we need a sponsor in order to become professionals,” said Mvumeni.
The group is also short of equipment.
They also got the opportunity to showcase their skills during the four-day event that was organized by Umdzabu Cultural Group early this year.
