Nine-year-old child was assaulted by his school teacher

It is reported to Seskhona Newspaper that on Friday, 20 January 2023 a certain learner from Osizweni Primary school in eMbalenhle went home with a swollen body and bruises which revealed that he was assaulted.

The boy was allegedly assaulted at school by his teacher for reasons that are still unclear at this stage.

It is further alleged that the School principal is aware of the incident and currently, the matter has been reported to Mpumalanga Department of Education.

Despite these allegations the accused teacher still continues to work at the school and it is said that no action has been taken against him at this stage.

A case was reported to the police by the mother of the learner and a case of assault has been opened at eMbalenhle police station for further investigation.

“As a school we are aware of the matter but currently is not in our hands as we still waiting for the department of education to get back to us with the action, they are willing to take,” said one school teacher from Osizweni Primary School who wished to remain anonymous.
