Miss Grand South Africa finalist, Portia Ndaba hosted a seminar talk to the Chief Ampie Mayisa Secondary School Grade 12 learners about gender-based violence (GBV), especially against women, and solutions to stop war.
The aim of the seminar talk was to teach the learners more about GBV and where they can report such issues.
“We must support the survivors, listen to their stories, and amplify their voices.
We must also hold the perpetrators accountable, challenge the status quo, and demand change,” said Portia.
The devastating statistics reveal the sheer scale of this crisis, but remember that for every statistic, there is a human being who deserves dignity, respect, and protection, further stated Portia.
In closing, Portia said that with her strength, compassion, and drive for positive change in the lives of women, she can change many lives and bring smiles to their faces.
