Sifiso Innocent Khumalo (42) appeared before the Evander Magistrate’s court on Wednesday, 04 June 2025 facing rape and murder charges.
He is charged for the murder of his seven months pregnant girlfriend and the rape of the deceased sister.
According to the Investigation Officer, Sgt Bongane Khumalo, the accused has not yet been linked to the murder of his step daughter due to missing statements.
In a separate incident involving the brutal murder of a 17-year-old who is a stepdaughter to the accused, she was discovered deceased in a decomposing state at the accused’s place of residence.
The stepdaughter was discovered several days after he was arrested for the murder of his seven months pregnant girlfriend.
Preliminary investigations suggested that the stepdaughter had recently argued with Khumalo over his intention to sell the shack that once belonged to her late mother.
The teenager had reportedly objected, expressing concern for her younger siblings, who would need a place to stay in the future.
Khumalo abandoned his bail application and the matter was postponed to 4 July 2025 for further investigations.
