Friday, 20 January 2023 was the most joyful day for Tumi Mthombeni from Kinross who matriculated from Hoerskool Oosterland has obtained 6 distinctions for the following subjects:

English Home Language;

Afrikaans first additional language;

Mathematics;

Physical Science;

Life Science;

And Life Orientation.

According to Tumi, the most challenging subject was Information Technology which he obtained a level 6 for the subject.

“My advice to matric 2023 is to listen to your teachers, focus, do your schoolwork and attend extra classes, if necessary”, said Tumi Mthombeni.

He plans to study Chemical Engineering or Medicine either at Wits University or Stellenbosch University.

Currently Tumi has no approved funding for his varsity fees but hopeful that he will get something soon.

Tumis’ father, Sunday Mthombeni showed so much excitement for his son’s achievement.

When asked about how he felt about his son’s results, Sunday expressed as a parent he was happy that he has played a vital role of being a responsible parent to his children.
