After the release of matric results, Seskhona Newspaper took place to interview top learners in the Highveld Ridge East Circuit Region (covering Embalenhle and Bracken) on Friday, 20 January 2022 as they are going to start their new journey at institutions of higher learning.
Regardless of the fact that Kiriyatswane Secondary School took last position within the Circuit with 39.6% pass rate and which deteriorated from last year percentage, there are leaners who managed to obtain distinctions for subjects such as Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science, Life Orientation and Accounting.
Reabetswoe Mapitsi who obtained 3 distinctions wishes to further his studies at University of Pretoria furthering his studies in Actuarial Science or Chartered Accountant meanwhile Abel Nkosi who obtained 4 distinctions wishes to further his studies at University of Cape Town furthering his studies in Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
Therefore the duo from Kiriyatwane wishes to get bursaries to help them in their studies.
Seskhona newspaper got a very warm welcome from Kusasalethu Comprehensive Secondary School with Principal and teachers congratulating their learners with free delicious lunch meals for making the school rein first amongst the local schools in Highveld Ridge East Circuit Region with a pass rate of 83.5%.
Matriculants at Kusasalethu managed to get distinctions in subject such as Mathematics, Physical Science, and Life Science, Life Orientation, Geography, English, Tourism and isiZulu.
The school’s duo, Angel Ren who has obtained 7 distinctions, missing the eighth distinction in Isizulu with only 1% and Philasande Magudulela who bagged all 8 distinctions wish to further their studies at University of Pretoria studying medicine as they both wish to become doctors.
The trio, Thando Xaba who obtained 5 distinctions, Promise Mokobane who obtained 2 distinctions and lastly Kamogelo Mokwana who obtained 1 distinction made Thomas Nhlabathi Secondary School proud for achieving the third position amongst the schools in the Highveld Ridge East Circuit Region with a 68.9% pass rate and obtaining distinctions in subjects such as English, isiZulu, Accounting, Life Science and Physical Science.
“I did not anticipate that my results will come out in this way, I was worried that if I fail, I will have to go back to school but now am so grateful and thankful to almighty God, teachers and my family for their support,” said Kamogelo Mokwana with an exciting face.
Furthermore, Sizwakele obtained an 82.3% pass rate following Kusasalethu, KI Thwala obtained a 57% pass rate following Thomas Nhlabathi, Thistle Groove obtained a pass rate of 50.5%, and lastly, Osizweni Secondary School beating Kiriyatswane with a 49.3% pass rate.
