Sasol in collaboration with Primestars, hosted a special screening of the ‘What About The Boys?” on Friday, 26 April 2024 at Ster-Kinekor Cinema in Secunda

The movie ‘ What about the boys” is an important intervention in addressing the issue of violence seeing that many men, boys, women and children are killed every year in South Africa.

As a socially responsible corporate and community developer, Sasol is forging a safer and more equitable society for future generations.

A key partner to the ‘What About The Boys?’ programme, Sasol, along with Primestars and other action-leaders, continue to empower tangible change in the fight against gender-based violence.

Young boys from different schools around Govan Mbeki Municipality are invited.

“What About the Boys?” was designed to help boys redefine masculinity by teaching them to share emotions in healthy ways, accept and connect with others, manage emotional triggers, stand up and speak out against bullying and inequality and break free from rigid stereotypes.

This initiative is in line with the annual International Day of the Boy Child, which is on 18 May, a day that was officially adopted by the United Nations in 2018.

“Together we are empowering our young men to become the changemakers of tomorrow, fostering a culture of respect and equality,” said Gao
Mothoagae, Vice President CSI RSA and Sasol Foundation.
