A 36-year-old man was hijacked just after the traffic lights in eMbalenhle, Ext 5 opposite Caltex garage on Monday night, 01 May 2023 at about 21h00.
It is alleged that the victim was driving alone in a blue Corsa bakkie heading to his residential place at Sasol flats from the direction of Ext 5.
The victim was allegedly attacked by three unknown males who were traveling in a blue VW Polo that was driving behind him.
The Polo allegedly overtook and blocked his way.
One of the suspects drew out a firearm, threatened the victim and instructed him to come out of the vehicle.
The victim alleges that he was searched and thereafter the suspects drove away with his vehicle.
The vehicle is valued at about R50 000 and is not yet recovered.
According to Constable Busisiwe Mthethwa from eMbalenhle Police Station, the docket was opened for further investigation and is not yet registered and the circulation number is still outstanding and will be provided at a later stage.
No injuries were sustained by the victim and the three suspects in a blue Polo with an unknown registration number are still at large.
