The Daughters of St Anne hosted a Fitness Awareness Day at Maria Consolata Church (MCC) in eMbalenhle on Saturday, 26 August 2023.
This is a wellness initiative designed to encourage congregation members to live healthy lifestyles and take advantage of the free benefits that come with them.
Additionally, the event aimed to promote awareness of good health.
“I bought a ticket to support our daughters but did not plan to actually participate in the activities but I am actually happy that I came witnessed the fun and relaxation from all the exercise,” said one of the congregation members.
Congregants competed in various activities which included fun walk, aerobics led by Mr Linda Skosana and Coach Sonnyboy, soccer and netball.
“I am happy to see our members supporting each other and I hope it does not end here,” said Fr. Zakhele, MCC priest.
Others waited in line to donate blood while some participated in the activities.
An award ceremony distribution marked the conclusion of the event.
