Two foreign nationals and two former employees of the Department of Home Affairs appeared before the Secunda Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 07 May 2026.
Melody Dube, Norls Moyo Tshume, Poria Mtshweni, and Nondumiso Maboyi were arrested on Thursday, 30 April 2026, and are facing charges of fraud and corruption.
The defence for the two former employees read their affidavits before the court, in which both the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
It was mentioned before the court that the alleged crime was committed in the year 2021, before Maboyi was dismissed in 2023, as read in her affidavit.
The matter was postponed for a formal bail application.
All accused were remanded in custody and will be back in court on Tuesday, 12 May 2026.
