The African Transformation Movement, popularly known as ATM, is a Faith Based National Political party established to create a modern and prosperous society that prides itself on integrity and inclusivity.

The ATM has five (5) core values namely Peace, Ubuntu (Humanity), Transformation, Servant Leadership and Accountability.

The movement has embarked on a programme of “Giving and Making a Difference” in the communities of Govan Mbeki Municipality.

ATM members managed to raise 600 sanitary towels, which were distributed to schools at Extension 14 in eMbalenhle (K.I Twala Secondary School and Vukuzithathe Primary School) on Thursday, 24 August 2023.

“As ATM, we have seen the need to invest in our schools and educational centres because it leads towards a path of smart economies which is led by Health, Empowerment and Employment,” said Nonhlanhla Maseko, Chairperson of Sub-region at GMM.

Additionally, Nonhlanhla urged learners in grade 6 and grade 7 at Vukuzithathe Primary School to assist one another as young girls during “the time of the month” and to always keep at least one sanitary towel in their school bag.

At K.I. Twala Secondary School, Cllr Lwandile Ziwele, MMC of Electricity and Energy in GMM, addressed learners in grades 10, 11, and 12 on how one should concentrate on their academic work.

“Nowadays, education is compulsory whether you apply at a supermarket or police station,” said MMC Ziwele.

The movement believes that “Ubuntu” serves as a foundation for education, as with “Ubuntu” the relationship between a learner and his/her community is interdependent and mutually connected.
