The vision of Thomas Nhlabathi Secondary School focuses on delivering a world-class education that encourages scientific research and innovation through collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking.
The learners will successfully contribute to and complete in the global community in future.
Seskhona News visited Thomas Nhlabathi Secondary School in eMbalenhle on the second academic day of the year on Thursday, 12 January 2023.
The goal of the school is to guide children towards being effective life-long learners and contributing members of society.
The school also sees to it that its learners fulfil their potential and contribute positively to the school, the community and global world.
Two grade 12 learners shared their high school experience and also their plans for the future after matric 2023.
“I have learnt that there is no other way to do it but work hard and listen to our teachers,” said Delisile Nkambule.
Bonginkosi Mokoena also stated that the quote of “Education is the key to success” means a lot as he has seen his family member, friends and neighbours dropping out of school and ending taking drugs and even committing crime.
With excitement and confidence Lwazi Matuka, one of the grade 8 learners who wants to study medicine after high school shared that she is ready to be in high school and build herself a bright future.
“My mother told me a few things about the school and how I should behave,” said Lwazi.
Simphiwe Mahlangu, grade 8 learner also shared how playful and naughty he was previous year which resulted him repeating the grade.
“I will not blame the teachers because they do their job and try by all means that we are all educated but it depends on how serious the learner is,” he said.
All four (4) learners indicated their eagerness to return back to school and being ready to do their best resulting good marks by the end of the academic year.
