The Vukanini Taxi Association Women’s League celebrated Women’s Month on Wednesday, 13 August 2025, at Raisibe Gardens in eMbalenhle.
The aim of the event was to encourage and remind elderly people that the association is there for them whenever they are in need.
The initiative has been ongoing for the past years as a celebration of Women’s Month.
The women’s league compiled a list of elderly women, and a total of one hundred (100) blankets were gifted to the elderly people who were present on the day, while others were required to register for the year 2026.
“By doing this, the association is giving back to the community, and I can assure everyone that this is the only association that commemorates Women’s Month with this graceful initiative,” said Duduzekile Maphumulo, National Chairperson of SANTACO Women, Secretary of the Greater North Region in KZN and also the Chairperson of the Kenville Taxi Association in KZN.
The VUKTA Women’s League vowed to continue with the initiative.
