Miss Valentine 1st princess 2019, Miss Teen Unity South Africa 2019 and the finalist of Miss face of South Africa 2019 Nontuthukoyesizwe Maseko with the help of Miss Valentine plus 1st princess 2019 Zanele Phatiswa Mtsweni visited Buhlebethu Foundation Centre in Kinross.
They were joined by Thomas Heights Ambassadors Gift Maseko, Sihle Shabangu, Nqibile Mahlangu, and Paul Mabena.
Nontuthukoyesizwe said she was assisted by her mother Queeneth Maseko in raising moneyto buy sanitary towels.
My mom’s words were, “A girl should never miss school because of sanitary wear” and we both remind each other that ‘Together we can build our world’.
We both were able to by a maximum of 40 sanitary towels.
Nontu further mentioned that the Maseko and Mtsweni family helped out a lot with clothes to donate to the needy and it was very heartwarming to hand them over.
“We had a wonderful time at Buhlebethu as Thomas Heights Models.
We also had a talk with the kids, we sang Mr Thomas song that makes each and every kid special,” said the girls.
They shared the gender base violence information with their peers.
During the gender based violence talk, they discussed the struggles faced by rape victims.
“No one believes you, no one stands for you and no one will understand your pain”.
Nontu Hope Maseko and Zanele Mtsweni pledged to continue visiting Buhlebethu centre to help with homework, sport activities and hold conversations with young people on different topics such as how to handle peer pressure.
Nontu urge the community to join them in lending a helping hand at Buhlebethu Centre by donating food, sanitary towels, clothes and school uniforms.
