The Annual Sasol sports weekend which was hosted by Sasol was a huge success, with teams from around Gert Sibande District competing.
The event took place from 1 to 3 April 2022 at Embalenhle Sasol Club, Kinross Sasol Club and Secunda Sasol Recreational Club.
The official opening was hosted by Embalenhle Sasol Club graced by traditional leaders, the community, and representatives from Sasol led by Ms Mashudu Ndou: Vice President for Sasol Corporate Affairs.
On an opening day, Bethal Bears played against Embalenhle Cricket Club U/13.
Bethal Bears obtained 108 runs and Embalenhle Club acquired 110 runs which led to the win for Embalenhle club by 1 wicket.
The Cricket U/16 teams match was between Kinross and Embalenhle.
Kinross obtained 28 runs and Embalenhle won with 30 runs and 10 wickets.
The match continued on Saturday between senior teams of Embalenhle seniors and Kinross seniors.
Embalenhle seniors finished with 122 runs all out with Kinross having 88 runs for 9 wickets in 18.5 overs resulting in both teams having a draw.
