A 20-year-old young girl from Barberton in Mpumalanga province was allegedly found murdered on Sunday, 19 February 2023.
It is alleged that she had been in an abusive relationship, and she was allegedly last seen arguing with her boyfriend who is 38-year-old of age.
It is further alleged that the accused boyfriend murdered her, dismembered her and then put her body parts in a duffel bag.
According to reports, the accused allegedly put the bag in a cart.
As he was pushing it to a dumpster the trolley fell down and the community members who were next to him on the street saw the corpse and assaulted him.
The accused has been arrested and remain in custody and his bail application is set for 3 March 2023 in Barberton Magistrate court.
Sources revealed that the victim’s family was aware of their child’s relationship with the accused and how the accused used to allegedly abuse their daughter, but he was never arrested after they opened a case against him until the occurrence of this tragic incident.
